The Reformed University of Applied Sciences
  • About the GH

The Gereformeerde Hogeschool is a dynamic organization – a knowledge center, actively participating in the development and professionalization of education, care, social work and theology.

    Education

We offer both full-time as part-time bachelor programs in Education in Primary schools (age 4-12), Nursing, Social Work, Theology and Teacher Education in Religion and part-time masters programs in Special Educational Needs and Learning and Innovating. Thanks to our collaboration with the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam GH-students can obtain two bachelor degrees at once: a degree in Education in Primary schools (age 4-12) and a degree in Pedagogical Sciences. In cooperation with two theological universities in Kampen and Apeldoorn we offer a part-time master’s program in Teacher Education in Theology and Religious Education. Together with four universities of applied sciences we provide a part-time master’s program in Educational Leadership. Besides this we teach several postgraduate non-degree programs and several other courses.

    Research

The Gereformeerde Hogeschool performs research through its lectorates. A lectorate is a scientific research and education unit chaired by a lector. Today the GH houses the lectorate Samenlevingsvraagstukken (Societal Issues), chaired by Prof. Dr. J. Hoogland and the lectorate Morele vorming in het onderwijs (Moral Education), chaired by Prof. Dr. P. Vos and the lectorate Zorg en Spiritualiteit (Health Care and Spirituality), chaired by Prof. Dr. R. van Leeuwen. The GH cooperates with the Christian University Ede and Christian University Driestar to support these lectorates, as well as the lectorate Ethiek van de Zorg (Ethics of Care) and the lectorate Onderwijs en Identiteit (Education and Identity).

    Consultancy

Besides education and research the GH does consultancy work and offers in-service training within the work field of its students.
